One

Overdue corporate returns, brought current in order

A T2 is due six months after the corporation's year end, and the balance is due before that. When a year is missed the next one is usually harder, because the opening balances are unresolved. Most of the work in a late file is rebuilding the position, not preparing the return.

HBT takes overdue corporate files, establishes what has and has not been filed, works the years in order so each one opens from a closed prior year, and tells you what the exposure looks like before anything is submitted. If the corporation was inactive, that is usually a much smaller job than owners expect.

Two

What a late filing engagement covers

Establish the filing position

Confirm the year ends, which returns are outstanding, and what the CRA already shows on the account.

Rebuild and close each year

Work the years in sequence so each return opens from a properly closed prior year.

File and address the balance

Submit the returns and set out what is owing, including where relief may be worth requesting.

Three

How the work begins

  1. Step 1: Tell us how far behind you are

The first conversation is free and nothing is judged. We need the years, the entity, and any CRA notices.

  2. Step 2: Confirm scope and price

We quote once we know how many years and what condition the records are in.

  3. Step 3: Bring the account current

File in order, then set up a rhythm so it does not happen again.

Four

How much does a late T2 return cost?

A corporate year end with T2 starts at $2,500. A nil return starts at $750 and an inactive or minimal activity corporation at $1,500. Each additional corporation starts at $1,500. Amounts are starting prices plus GST or HST where it applies and depend on record quality and how many years are outstanding.
